PredMarkets

Frequently Asked Questions

What is USDC?

USDC is Circle's native stablecoin on Avalanche, used as collateral for all trading and redemption.

What happens if the price does not move?

If the close is equal to the strike, the market did not go up, so DOWN wins.

Can I exit before expiry?

Yes. If there is liquidity you can sell shares back into the book, or you can cancel any still-open limit orders.

How are prices determined?

Resting orders set the book. Market orders fill against the best available prices. Price feeds come from Pyth Network, which aggregates data from multiple institutional sources.

Do I need a wallet?

Yes. Wallet connection is required for trading and claiming. A username is optional and only used for chat.

What network is supported?

PredMarkets runs on Avalanche C-Chain (mainnet). Connect your wallet to the Avalanche network to trade.

What if the frontend goes down?

You can still claim winnings directly on-chain via the ConditionalTokens contract. The /api/claimable/:address endpoint returns exact contract call parameters for use with a block explorer.

Is the live chat tied to wallet authority?

Wallet ownership is the source of truth. Usernames are chat metadata only and do not grant trading or signing authority.
